2. Import a playlist
Below you will find an overview of all the methods of importing playlist into the Wave IPTV application, the first necessary step to use it.
01
2.1 Restore a backup
Available only in Premium.
Objective: restore a backup created in the application in order to return it exactly to the previous state without any loss of data. This method is especially useful when you want to perform a reinstallation or install the application on a new device without having to configure everything again. The following are preserved in particular:
- Preferences, favorites, history
- Imported content (VOD, channels)
- Scheduling and organization of groups (normal and custom)/chains
- Programs, manual EPG assignments, ...
- 01From the import screen, choose Restore Backup.
- 02Select the backup file.
- 03Confirm.
- 04Wait for the restore to complete.
- 05The application restarts and returns to the exact save state.
You can also access it via Settings > Preferences > Backup & Restore.
02
2.2 Import via QR code (web feed)
Objective: to avoid typing using the remote control. The information is entered on mobile/tablet then sent to the TV.
- 01On the TV, choose Import via QR code.
- 02Scan the QR code with your phone or tablet.
- 03The WAVE IPTV site opens.
- 04Select the M3U URL or Xtream Codes tab.
- 05Fill in the fields, then validate.
- 06The playlist is automatically sent to the TV.
The transfer is generally immediate, around 1 to 2 seconds.
Close and relaunch the TV application.
The server may be temporarily loaded.
If necessary, use another import method.
03
2.3 Import via M3U link (in the application)
Objective: quickly import an M3U link with the remote control.
- Direct URL to an M3U file (.m3u / .m3u8).
- Redirection link (Google Drive, GitHub, URL shortcuts accepted).
- M3U link in Xtream format (with username and password included).
- 01On the import screen, choose M3U Link.
- 02Type or paste the URL.
- 03Validate.
- 04Wait for the insertion to complete.
04
2.4 Import via Xtream Codes (in the application)
Objective: directly enter server, username and password.
- 01On the import screen, choose Xtream Codes.
- 02Enter the server address, username and password.
- 03Validate.
- 04Wait for the loading to finish.
05
2.5 Import via Cloud Synchronization
Premium function. No testing possible on this functionality
Cloud synchronization synchronizes one device with one (or more) others (one code per active device).
- 01On the TV, choose Import via Cloud Sync.
- 02Sign in with your Google account if the screen asks you to do so.
- 03Enter the code generated by the first device.
- 04The import starts automatically a few seconds later.
You can sync multiple devices.
A code is only used for one device at a time. If you need to sync multiple devices with each other, repeat the same operation with the other devices that need to sync to the source device.
06
2.6 Import via Mac Address
- At the bottom right of the playlist import screen is your device's MAC address
- Write down this address and go to: https://waveiptv.org/en/account
- Log in, create your playlist by entering its url/credentials and validate
- Then go to “Remote activation” and choose the playlist, then enter the MAC Address
- Wait a few seconds, then restart the TV app. Your playlist will load automatically
No limit for activations by MAC ADDRESS. However, any abuse could result in you being automatically banned from this part of the site.
Please wait a minimum of 10 seconds between scheduled remote activation and restart of your TV application for this to take effect.
07
2.7 Insertion time and automatic redirection
After validation of your playlist, a pop-up and progress monitoring displays the loading of content in progress. This allows you to follow the insertion.
- Typically observed import time: 1 to 2 minutes.
- May be shorter or longer depending on the size of the playlist.
- If the playlist only contains channels: redirection to the TV screen.
- If the playlist also contains films and series: initial redirection to Films and Series.
In some exceptional cases, the import of a playlist may not be complete (or even missing a complete section). To fix the issue: Go to Settings > Playlist & Update, then run a full update manually.
